Her 20-year career working in high-profile restaurants includes wine director and general manager roles at Esca Restaurant and guest-engaging positions at Blue Hill NYC and Gramercy Tavern. Cowan is an advanced sommelier with the Court of Masters and has helped curate award-winning wine menus. In 2016, she was the U.S. representative for the Wines of South Africa competition. That same year, Cowan was the only female of the eight international finalists selected. She was awarded the Laurent-Perrier Advanced CMS Scholarship and was the inaugural winner of the Becky Wasserman Burgundy Scholarship.
