Wine Enthusiast Companies Announces Partnership with The Lustgarten Foundation, Honoring Josh Farrell’s Legacy

VALHALLA, N.Y. (November 16, 2023) Wine Enthusiast Companies announced today, World Pancreatic Cancer Day, the launch of a charity partnership with The Lustgarten Foundation. The Foundation is the largest private funder of the world’s preeminent pancreatic cancer researchers with the goal of advancing the best science to transform pancreatic cancer into a curable disease.

In September 2023, Josh Farrell lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. Farrell was the Director of Wine Express and a 30-year veteran at Wine Enthusiast Companies. He joined Wine Enthusiast as a storage consultant, excelled in this role, and was promoted to Director of Wine Express in 2005. His theatrical talents contributed to the thousands of virtual video tastings he helped create, propelling Wine Express into what it is today. Farrell’s positive contributions spread throughout the company from writing articles for Wine Enthusiast magazine to working closely with Chief Revenue & Education Officer Marshall Tilden as an instructor for Wine Enthusiast Academy students.

A dedicated donation page has been created by The Lustgarten Foundation to honor the memory of Josh Farrell. The page can be found at this link: https://lustgarten.org/wineenthusiast/

Since the company was founded in 1979, Wine Enthusiast Companies has been committed to giving back to communities in need. Its founders, Adam and Sybil Strum, have long supported organizations promoting health, the environment, gender equality, the arts, and funds that help the wine and food worlds during crises.

“We are honored to partner with The Lustgarten Foundation and support the incredible research the Foundation is doing to transform pancreatic cancer into a curable disease,” said Sybil Strum, Co-founder and Chief Brand Officer of Wine Enthusiast Companies. “The Wine Enthusiast family lost one of our most loved team members to this devastating disease and we are aligned with the Foundation’s belief that research is the only way to fundamentally improve outcomes. We are committed to supporting the organization’s inspirational efforts in progressing pancreatic cancer research and providing hope and health for all patients.”
