Wine Enthusiast Companies Launches Specialized Content Partnership with Jason Wilson

VALHALLA, N.Y. (August 17, 2023) Wine Enthusiast Companies announced today the launch of a specialized content partnership with Jason Wilson of Everyday Drinking. Each week, Wilson will look at issues and ideas within the drinks industry that will be targeted toward both the industry and consumer segments. Wilson’s content will be posted exclusively to Wine Enthusiast’s Beverage Industry Enthusiast column and the Culture category on WineEnthusiast.com, including insider travel guides and long-form essays on topical issues.

In this co-branded partnership, content will be cross promoted between Wine Enthusiast and Wilson’s Substack newsletter, Everyday Drinking. Wilson launched Everyday Drinking in 2021 to explore how drinks intersect with culture, travel, and food. The newsletter was awarded Substack’s “Food Writers Intensive” fellowship and has grown into a must-read for wine and spirits lovers. Wilson will serve as a columnist in this newly launched partnership, developing content for the combined audiences of Wine Enthusiast and Everyday Drinking.

“Jason’s engaged following and provocative essays make him an interesting writer for this innovative content partnership,” said Jacqueline Strum, President & Publisher of Wine Enthusiast Media. “This collaboration gives us an opportunity to lift niche voices in the wine industry, reach a specific audience of wine readers, and deliver content they are looking for while helping our partners target new segments.”

Wilson has been covering wine and spirits for almost two decades, authoring three acclaimed books on drinks: “Godforsaken Drinks,” “Boozehound,” and “The Cider Revival.” He started down the drinks writing path as the spirits columnist for The Washington Post, where he won awards for “Best Food Column” three times from the Association of Food Journalists. As a critic for Vinous, he covered the wines of Loire Valley and the Finger Lakes, as well as the brandies of Cognac, Armagnac, and Calvados. Wilson has been a dining columnist for The Philadelphia Citizen, Philadelphia Magazine, and Philadelphia Daily News, a beer columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, and the American columnist for UK-based Harpers Wine & Spirit.
