VALHALLA, N.Y. (April 21, 2022) — Wine Enthusiast Companies, composed of Wine Enthusiast Media and Wine Enthusiast Commerce, announced today the company’s support for humanitarian organizations helping Ukrainians with a $25,000 donation to Project HOPE and an employee-match campaign benefitting Sunflower of Peace. Since the company was founded in 1979, Wine Enthusiast Companies has been committed to giving back to communities in need. Its founders, Adam and Sybil Strum, have long supported organizations promoting health, the environment, gender equality, the arts, and funds that help the wine and food worlds during crises.
From April 13 to April 14, Wine Enthusiast held a charitable shopping event, where 10% of all sales would be dedicated to Project HOPE, a global health and humanitarian organization providing access to critical health care for people impacted by the Ukraine crisis and around the world. From cheeseboards and pizza trays to wine refrigerators and furniture made of reclaimed wine barrels, a portion of sales from every item across the retail website contributed to the two-day charity special. The company will be donating $25,000 to Project HOPE.
Additionally, Wine Enthusiast launched an employee-match campaign at the beginning of March, where the company pledges to match all employee donations to Sunflower of Peace. Sunflower of Peace Foundation is a non-profit organization whose current mission is to support the people of Ukraine affected by the Russian military invasion.
