We’ve combed through Winemag.com search history to discover which rosés are most often sought out for reviews, scores and tasting notes. Unsurprisingly, France dominates the list, but, this year, California’s Central Coast has also made a strong showing in the category.

Summer Water 2019 Rosé (Central Coast); $20, 92 points. A pale salmon-pink color in the glass, this widely available bottling of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah delivers a fantastic nose of melon, bubblegum and soft rose petals. It’s clean and chalky on the palate, with a light cantaloupe flavor and a surprisingly long finish. Editors’ Choice. —Matt Kettmann

La Crema 2019 Rosé of Pinot Noir (Monterey); $25, 91 points. Crisp and clean aromas of strawberry, watermelon, chalk and citrus pith make for a very compelling nose on this bottling. There’s a great snap to the palate, where pure but delicate strawberry flavors leveled by an ashy streak. Editors’ Choice. —Matt Kettmann

Gérard Bertrand 2019 Côte des Roses Rosé (Languedoc); $18, 91 points. A pale coppery-pink color, this rosé made from Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault opens with aromas of freshly pressed sweet pea and peony combined with notes of white cherry and watermelon rind. The palate is light and easy to enjoy, but with a ripe-fruit character that lends a satisfying impression. Argyle 2019 Rosé of Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley); $27, 90 points. Sourced from the Knudsen and Spirit Hill vineyards, this is a light and pretty coppery pink, scented with orange blossoms and laced with bracing citrus flavors. The strawberry and watermelon fruit falls on the tart side, but the overall impression is that this is a stylish and impeccably fresh rosé that can be chilled and enjoyed with almost any kind of outdoor picnic fare. Gérard Bertrand 2019 Hampton Water Rosé (Languedoc); $23, 90 points. A light garrigue character sits atop the bouquet of this dainty and pretty rosé, made from 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 15% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah. Underlying tones suggest white raspberry, currant and strawberry hull. Angeline 2019 Rosé of Pinot Noir (California); $10, 89 points. A very light color belies the substantive red-fruit character in this medium-bodied, smooth-textured wine. Joel Gott 2019 Rosé (Central Coast); $17, 88 points. Very light aromas of powdery bubblegum sticks, delicate strawberry and a hint of tangerine show on the nose of this bottling. Tangy, zippy scents of grapefruit and tangerine oil immediately waft from the glass of this bright rosé, with some currant and rhubarb tones in the back.
